Phoenix Rising FC announced Monday that midfielder Luke Rooney will miss the remainder of the season, and midfielder Alessandro Riggi will miss 3-5 weeks, both with right knee injuries.

Rooney was injured in the 20th minute in Saturday’s match against Oklahoma City Energy FC in a non-contact injury. Rooney stayed down on the field for several moments before he was helped off.  He received additional medical support on the sidelines and made a brief return to the match before coming out in 27th minute.

Riggi was injured in the 28th minute on another non-contact play. He was helped off the field and subsequently subbed out.

Both players wore large knee braces after the match, but Riggi walked with crutches.
