Phoenix Rising FC, in conjunction with FC Tucson, announced the creation of the Mobile Mini Sun Cup on Tuesday.

The event, which will include Phoenix Rising and 11 MLS clubs, will take place in Scottsdale and Tucson from Feb.3 through Feb. 24. Mobile Mini will also be a sponsor of the 2018 Mobile Mini Sun Cup MVP award handed out at the end of the three-week event.

The 11 MLS clubs participating in the Mobile Mini Sun Cup include: Colorado Rapids, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo, LA Galaxy, New England Revolution, Portland Timbers, New York Red Bulls, Real Salt Lake, San Jose Earthquakes, Seattle Sounders, and Sporting Kansas City.

Phoenix Rising will also be a part of the matches, playing against three MLS sides at the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex. The team will play against an unnamed side on Feb. 10 at 3 p.m., then play against the Colorado Rapids on Feb. 14 at 6 p.m., and then close out the matches against Sporting Kansas City Feb. 17 at 3 p.m. Tickets for those matches are included in the season ticket package, and season ticket holders also have the ability to purchase additional tickets before tickets go on sale to the public on Dec. 12.

Phoenix Rising will also play in Tucson on the final day of the preseason on Feb. 24, with the opponent and time determined by play throughout the Mobile Mini Sun Cup.

Games between MLS sides down in Tucson will be played on Feb. 3, Feb. 17 and Feb. 24. Games and times for those matches will be announced at a later date.

“Tucson has done an incredible job setting a gold standard for MLS Preseason and we’re excited to enhance that and make it bigger than ever,” Phoenix Rising FC club governor Berke Bakay said in a press release. “With the help of Mobile Mini we’re bringing even more clubs to Tucson for MLS Preseason.”

“Soccer in Arizona benefits when FC Tucson and Phoenix Rising FC co-hosts projects like this,” FC Tucson general manager Jon Pearlman added. “The fact that this event is expanding is a testament to the Tucson soccer community’s role in growing MLS Preseason.”

Individual tickets for the event in Tucson will go on sale Dec. 12, but a “Mobile Mini Sun Pass”, which allows access to all gated games in Tucson, is on sale now for $40, and can be purchased at or
