Phoenix Rising FC will open its 2018 regular season on the road this year, taking on Orange County SC on March 17 at “The Citrus Knoll”, Orange County Great Park, in Irvine, Calif. Phoenix holds the edge in the all-time series, with six wins, four losses, and four draws.
OCSC is led by rookie head coach Braeden Cloutier who takes over from Logan Pause.
Rising FC will then renew its “USL Class of ’14” rivalry with Western Conference foe OKC Energy FC on March 24, at Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex.
The Firebirds split a pair of contests with OKC last season, and have had an entertaining series overall, with each club claiming four wins and two draws, including U.S. Open Cup play.
OKC parted ways with inaugural head coach Jimmy Nielsen after the 2017 season, and are now led by veteran coach Steve Cooke, most recently the interim head coach at Colorado Rapids.
